There were some fun things that I was determined to take Sawyer to and/or have him do at home after I had Dawson because I knew we would be pretty cooped up for the winter. The first was the Sheep Parade that Cedar holds that basically allows farmers to use main street to move their sheep from one spot to another. I actually had never gone to the parade before and was pleasantly surprised. I liked it more than the summer parades for sure and I think Sawyer did too. He got a little bored with all of the car entries but had fun getting candy (even though he was battling kids five times his age...which I'll be honest, irritates me to no end when it comes to parades; like really, just let the two year old pick up one blessed piece of candy you turkey older kids).
The sheep were definitely the best part of the parade. They were full on running down the street and jumping over each other. Sawyer was really concerned about the commotion and kept pointing at the sheep and yelling, "Uh-oh! Uh-oh!"
For one of our FHE activities we decided to carve/paint pumpkins. I hate gutting pumpkins and carving them (it makes my hands sting, weird right? but I do like seeing everyone else's finished products) so I helped Sawyer decorate his instead. The best part of the night (and all of the fall season) was hearing Sawyer call pumpkins "pum-pums".

We dressed Sawyer up as a pirate for Halloween. I had to threaten him to get him to keep his eye patch and earring on for the picture (no grandma if mom couldn't get a picture, best motivator around).
Dawson was dressed up as a teeny-tiny Frankenstein. He was oblivious in his two-week-old state.
We made the rounds to some aunts and uncles and the grandparents. Dillon took Sawyer around their neighborhoods while Dawson and I made pit stops for nursing. Sawyer was hesitant to hold his trick-or-treating pumpkin at first but once he figured out he got to put candy in it, he was all about it. Dillon said that Sawyer actually liked ringing the doorbells more than anything else. If someone was ready at their door, Sawyer would still insist on ringing their bell before he'd let Dillon take him away.
We soaked up some of our last warm weather of the year by spending time outside, mostly in the backyard. Sawyer became of big fan of the squirt bottle and would walk around squirting EVERYTHING outside. And then he figured out he could drink it too which I'm pretty sure is a right of passage in childhood.
We also started watching more movies as a family since Sawyer actually started paying attention. His obsession at this point was either the old Disney shorts with the Three Little Pigs etc. or Lilo and Stitch.
The last thing we did as part of our Fall Fun was go to the Children's Cavalcade Parade in November. This is by far one of the better parades the town puts on and Sawyer LOVED it. They do floats of children's books, shows, and stories. There was a Three Little Pigs float which was perfect. Sawyer lit up with delight and kept saying over and over, "Piiiiiig!! Volf! Pig! Volf!".
