Dawson Twelve Months

Twelve Month Stats:

Weight: 16 lb 7 oz (0.11 percentile)
Height: 27.5 in (2nd percentile)
Head: 17.5 in (6th percentile)

Dawson had a busy month performing little tricks for us. He started giving high-fives, clicking his tongue (and waiting for us to click back), and giving big, slobbery kisses. He stills headbutts everything, including our faces. He does it out of affection but we've learned to be on our guard. My nose has caught more than a few cracks. He hates changing (diapers and outfits) with a fiery passion and turns it into a full-on wrestling match every time, which is exhausting. He loves hats, suckers, and stuffed animals (the last one makes me laugh because I almost thought of getting rid of our stuffed animals since Sawyer had little interest in them except for a few..but Dawson's all about them).

Dawson cut his top, front two teeth which was miserable but is nice because he can eat most food with his four chompers (two top and two bottom). He's completely switched to sippy cups and whole milk and it was the easiest transition by far with him.

Dawson is seriously the epitome of a Sour Patch Kid but generally saves his sourest moments for when we're at home so I don't think other people believe me. But this kid is either hot or cold in temperament, not much of an in between. He can be so lovey and sweet but is also capable of screaming bloody murder for much longer than necessary because you did something awful like moving him away from the garbage can. And stubborn. Oh so stubborn. We got him a new Wubbanub binky for his birthday because the other one is Sawyer's old one with a new binky sewn onto it, and it's falling apart. Dawson won't take the new one. He cried and whined for forty-five minutes at nap time before I gave up and gave him the nasty old puppy Wubbanub...and he went right to sleep. I can only hope that stubbornness is put to good use later in his life.

Dawson is his own person and has made sure that we knew, from delivery up to now, that he would be doing absolutely nothing the same as his older brother did. He's a little spitfire but I wouldn't have it any other way.

Happy Birthday Dawson! We love you and are so glad you came to our family.

So much change in one little year

Guess who's figured out how to open the wipes?

Loving on Hedwig

One of the sour moments

Hats are just sooo funny

Serious milk drinking

Trying to catch him dancing every time he got the hat on his head

Stacking pumpkins. His little belly "huuu" laugh, the best. He would do it every time he got the pumpkins to balance on top of one another.

Sucker run for Dawson's birthday
